This article is about the LEGION Act, that expands American Legion Membership rules to include additional family members.
Barrington, NH The US Congress recently passed the Let Everyone Get Involved in Opportunities for National Service (LEGION) Act. The LEGION Act opened the door for approximately 6 million veterans to access American Legion programs and benefits for which they previously had not been eligible.
Congress has reduced the number of eligibility periods from seven shorter periods to two longer periods. They are April 6, 1917, to Nov. 11, 1918, and Dec. 7, 1941, and continuing. Any Barrington Veteran who served during these dates and have been honorably discharged (DD-214 required) is now eligible for membership in the American Legion. Additionally, grandmothers, mothers, sisters, spouses (male or female), and direct and adopted female descendants of all men and women who served are now eligible for membership in the American Legion Auxiliary. Furthermore, if a local veteran or their family needs assistance please reach out to the Barrington American Legion Post 114.
The Roger E Cardin Jr - Post 114 Barrington, NH we would like to invite all Barrington Veterans and their families to join us.
